Trash and Linen Chutes

Everyone is concerned with odors that emanate from trash/linen chutes and permeate the hallways and stairwells of buildings, leading to complaints and renters not wanting to rent from your building. Dirty or unmaintained trash chutes cause all sorts of problems, although they can be avoidable within todays budgets and management constraints. Titan Specialties has developed a comprehensive trash chute cleaning and maintenance program. We recommend that trash/linen chutes be cleaned at least twice a year depending on building size and use. Your tenants would welcome a cleaning just call Titan Specialties at 1-262-224-4821.

Safety - Tenants discard unsuitable items into trash chutes. Some are flammable paints, thinners, chemicals, etc. As these chemicals build up in the chute it creates a greater chance of a fire hazard as well as a chemical odor that is unhealthy to breath. It is recommended to have your trash chute professionally cleaned by Titan Specialties twice a year.

Insect Infestation - Creatures can move in and turn dirty trash/linen chute into their home, primarily rats, roaches, mice and other creatures. Vermin and bugs are a year around issue and the problem can multiply with alarming speed without proper cleaning.

Health Issues - Waste material, debris and allergens can build up in the buildings airways and passages turning the trash chute into a perfect environment and breeding ground for bacteria, salmonella, e-coli, dysentery and legionnaires diseases, staph infections and many other harmful diseases. The problem does not stop at the chute, chutes are equipped with vents and the air inside can circulate into hallways and apartments, exposing everyone in the building to airborne bacteria.
